A nice museum to visit, that will only improve as it completes more of its expansion projects. I found that there was more emphasis on displaying artifacts than providing a description and their role in the railway. While there was a brief summary of the railway and it's life on the island I felt more could have been done to convey the impact the railway had on the island. It is a small museum run by, what I assume, are volunteers who do a good job keeping maintaining the museum. It does sound like, through overheard conversations from the volunteers, the museum is having financial difficulties. I recommend stopping by this museum and supporting it so that they can continue to operate a d hopefully expand.

A must miss. A few ratty buildings with a dismal collection of flea-bitten railroad artifacts plus a dangerous looking "train" you sit on uncomfortably as a young boy fiddles with the controls. Each "attraction" here costs extra. By the time we were done our wallets were $50 lighter for two kids plus accompanying adults. The "staff" follows you around to make sure you don't try to sneak into anything without paying. I've had more fun losing my wallet down a sewer.

Nice little museum. Don't expect to spend the day there but a fun little stop. Kids loved the train rides.

Quaint, historic spot lovingly cared for and put together by a dedicated staff. Our preschooler loved every part, from the neat artifacts in the museum, to the model train, to the rides on the mini train and speedy tram, to perusing in the gift shop. A great stop before continuing onto Basin Head.
